The Confederation of African Soccer (CAF) has created a specialised Infrastructure Division as a part of its Competitions and Occasions Division, in a drive to make sure all Member Associations can host worldwide matches on residence soil.
The brand new unit, which operates below the imaginative and prescient of CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, will help Member Associations on soccer infrastructure initiatives starting from development of recent stadiums to the renovation and approval of current services.
CAF has appointed a Senior Infrastructure Supervisor to guide the division’s work and urged associations to collaborate with the crew early to ensure that initiatives meet CAF and FIFA requirements.
By centralising technical help and streamlining the inspection course of, CAF hopes to deal with long-standing infrastructure gaps which have compelled a number of nations to play “residence” matches in impartial venues.
